Los estudiantes de la Escuela Secundaria de Riverhead obtuvieron nueve nominaciones al Premio “Teeny” este año.
Sofia Sablja-Reid (“Rent”) y John Yiaullo (“The Little Mermaid”) fueron nominados por su actuación estelar en una obra de teatro o musical. Isaac Kulp y Ethan Lucas obtuvieron nominaciones para el actor protagonista en un musical por sus actuaciones en “The Little Mermaid” (La Sirenita).
Megan Schlicting fue nominada como actriz secundaria en un musical por “Rent” (Arriendo).
Lily Kutner, Jessica Murgolo, Sofia Sabalja-Reid recibieron nominaciones por sus coreografía estelar en “The Little Mermaid.” Evelyn Kennedy fue nominada para directora de escenario por “The Little Mermaid.” Jason Rios fue nominado para diseño de poster y carteles por “The Little Mermaid.”
Los nominados al Premio “Teeny” fueron anunciados esta semana por la emisora de radio “The Beach” 101.7 FM, un patrocinador del programa anual de reconocimiento teatral para estudiantes presentado por East End Arts.
Los premios a la excelencia en las obras de teatro de las escuelas secundarias de todo el East End de Long Island, se establecieron en 2002. El objetivo del programa es elevar el nivel de la educación teatral de las escuelas secundarias al fomentar una mayor asistencia y orgullo comunitario en las producciones escolares, de la misma manera que los programas deportivos, según el East End Arts.
Las nominaciones fueron realizadas por jueces voluntarios anónimos con amplia experiencia en teatro que asisten a todas las representaciones teatrales de las escuelas secundarias del East End.
Los ganadores se anunciarán el 3 de junio en una ceremonia de gala en la Escuela Secundaria de Longwood.
